Two worlds
Chapter four

Text: Wout jut
The heavens have fallen.
The wind jerks to my wings.
The earth trembles beneath my feet.

Page  1. panel 1. A high terrifying scream goes through the night A man called Mellis reacts shocked. He was busy with searched branches. He’s an ecarian, standing on the foot of a hill. But not with the camouflage on his skin. He’s not from the forest. A half, light-blue moon is shining. He wears farmer clothes. A t-shirt, so the night is warm.
Caption: I have known war, and I have seen too many. People can be so cruel. So… heartless. Living in peace is an illusion.

panel 2. He runs on the hill going up, frightened of what to see.
Caption: Why in hell are they screaming? Probably just a needle in a finger, or a fight.

Panel 3. What he sees is terrifying and makes his blood boiling. There are soldiers. Three are holding the children and one is raping, or trying too, the wife of Mellis. The children are very scared. Those are the children we’ve seen in part one. Mujama with her brother and sister. There’s a good view of the top of the hill. It’s similar like Stonehenge. There are several burning torches.

Panel 4. Mellis is noticed, because Mellis is coming at them. Rage is taking over and like an animal he’s attacked the men.
Mellis: Veriél!!!!

Panel 5. So it’s clearly Mellis knows the woman who is with the children. Mellis rips the head of a soldier and takes his sword.
Caption: I don’t believe it. My old friend.
Veriél: Greetings, Mellis. It’s good to see you again.

Panel 6. Mellis storms with his sword towards Veriél and shows his sharp teeth. This is important. It shows that Mellis has other ancestors then the Ecarian we’ve encountered before.

Panel 7. With his elbow he hits Veriél full in the face. Small panel.

Page 2.

Panel 1.  Veriél kicks Mellis very hard between the legs.

Panel 2. Mellis knows to block a strike from Veriél. Behind Veriél he sees that his wife got stepped through the chest.
Mellis: Nooo!!!

Panel 3. With both of them you see the hate in their eyes.
Veriél: ‘You’re a formidable adversary, my old friend. It’s just too bad you’re born in Liasta.’

Panel 4. Mellis is forced to go back. Veriél is getting the upper hand.
Veriél: your rage is not enough to defeat me.
Mellis: Veriél, you will die as a worthless druiz.

Panel 5. Veriél sneers and attacks, which Mellis knows to block.
Mellis: No kidding.

Panel 6. Mellis cuts the right leg of Veriél open.

Panel 7. A second strike hits Veriél on the chest and quickly she steps back. Mellis is out for blood.
Mellis: Still not calling for help of your man?
Veriél: They know when not to interfere with their superior officer.

Page 3.

Panel 1. With one strike Veriél defeats Mellis. Mellis loose his sword.
Veriél: Your technique is worthless. I’m from Diaire and at least I know how to wield a sword. I’ve learned from the very best.

Panel 2. Mellis dodges a strike and gives Veriél a blow in the face with his elbow. She loses her sword.
Mellis: I’ve learned to fight on the streets, moron.

Panel 3. He picks the sword from the ground and look to the man, standing with his children.
Mellis: leave my children, or die with your boss.

Panel 4. A big knife goes through the chest of Mellis. His eyes are wide open. Behind him we see Veriél, with a sneer on her face.
Veriél: Know this, I didn't want your death, I'm just following orders. But, who cares?

Panel 5. Veriél steps on her big bird, a Taskeon. Mellis is bleeding, like he could die every moment. We see that the soldiers put the three children on other birds.
Veriél: Farewell, old friend. I hope that your soul will find peace in the hereafter.

Page 5.

Panel 1. We see a female foot standing next to the body of Mellis. We don't see yet who the person is.
Person: No. It was all that time her?

Panel 2. We see Odista and Mujama, looking to the dead body. Both are holding a stick. Mujama touch the dead body of Mellis.
Mujama: That woman killed my parents. She's tortured me. Made my body older.

Panel 3. Mujama's eyes are wide open.
Caption: I can change this. I have…
Mujama: …to change this. I can do that.

Panel 4. Odista holds Mujama, like a mother would do.
Odista: It's not the time to do that. You're new to your powers and still adjusting.

Panel 5. Mujama looks deviant to Odista.

Page 5.
Caption.
If I allow you into my reality,
I will lose myself.

Panel 1. We're at the swimmingpool again. The pool is almost empty. Around it there's still a mess, because of the fire and the explosion. We see Mujama observing the area. She looks calculated, without emotions. Byrne is looking sad. It's already dark. The stars are shining and the light comes from a moon.
Caption Mujama: - That's what the world is coming to? Hmm, point taken.
-  I'm a C.E.O. of a very large company… and I didn't see it coming.

Panel 2. Mujama looks to Byrne. Mujama face is very hard, full of anger.
Caption: I've learned very young that the world is unfair and that you have to take every opportunity.
Byrne: Are you sure it's going to work?
Mujama: No. But we're going to do this.

Panel 3. Just Mujama in the panel. picking up a broken drinking glass.
Mujama: We're going to fix our family, and catch the killer.

Panel 4. Byrne takes the face of Mujama in her hand.
Byrne: I love you, more than anything in the world. I'll follow you everywhere.

Panel 5. They kiss intimately.
Caption: Where would I be without you?

Panel 6. They stand before each other. The eyes of Mujama are glowing softly.
Mujama: Here goes nothing.

Page 6.

Panel 1, The eyes of Mujama are glowing bright, between green and blue.
Mujama: No regrets. No turning back. The bees are our lesser worries.

Panel 2. A big ball of magical energy is around the two women. They are not aware anymore of their surroundings. Maybe birdview.

Panel 3. A portal opens inside the green sphere. Strap and Elisa are stepping out of the blue portal. This is a big panel. Strap sees immediately what is going on.
Elisa: What the hell?
Strap: No, no, no, no, no!

Panel 4. Strap is looking around him. It's what he feared would happen.
Mujama: We're too late and right in the middle of things.
Elisa: And she's a newby. Gods, that can never go right.

Panel 5. Everyone and everything is now surrounded by a bright light. It's hard to see the four of them. We see them still, but only a little.

Panel 6. The sun is shining. We're still at the swimmingpool, but everything is clean. It's early in the morning, so there's fog above the water.
Elisa is with her hands on her knees, almost puking. She has done timetravel before with Strap, but still not used to it. Both Mujama and Byrne are throwing up. Strap is standing close to the two woman, looking angry.
Strap: Yeah, that happens the first time you timetravel. And the second, the third, the fourth.
What were you thinking?!

Page 7.

Panel 1. Mujama looks up and is shocked to see him. His arms are crossed and he just looking and standing there.
Mujama: You?

Panel 2. He points a finger to here. He understands why she did it, and how. But he's still amazed that it even worked. He's angry, but also afraid if he can bring them back.
Strap: You've used my blood to alter your powers! Do you have ever considered what could go wrong?! What kind of powers you could get? You could have end up in the Dark Ages! Or an entirely other universe!

Panel 3. Strap throws his arms in the air, turning his back to her. He's frustrated, angry.
Strap: Gods!!
Caption: This is not what I expected to happen!

Panel 4. Strap looks at her. Frustrated. disappointed. But mostly he feels like he's been used.
Strap: You've used me. Used the situation.

Panel 5. The face of Elisais like "Oh my god!" Strap signs, not to glad with this remark.
Elisa: Damn! Mimic was right. She turned herself into a supervillain.

Panel 6. Mujama reacts resentful.
Mujama: Are you kidding me? A supervillain? That… sounds lame.

Panel 7. Mujama looks at Strap. She does feel ashamed that she used him. But this needed to happen. That's her opinion.

Page 8.

Panel 1. She puts her hand up, like she doesn't want to hear a thing.
Mujama: Spare me your judgment. If you want an apology, then yes.
- I'm sorry for what I've done with you. But suddenly you were in my dream. That very moment was out of my control.

Panel 2. She looks at him. Small eyes.
Mujama: The "looking into your memories", wasn't my doing. Well, sort of, but you became part of my memories. I was trying to get you out of it.

Panel 3. She points at him.
Mujama: But, I've saw something very interesting in your memories. It was just a thought, but enough. The ability for time travel.

Panel 4. Still the same look.
Mujama: So if you want to warn me about the butterfly effect, say no more, because I don't care.

Panel 5. Bigger panel now with both of them in it.
Mujama: I'm going to change the timeline and I don't care that events will be erased. I'm going to save my husband and child and everyone else. After that, we return to the present and everything will be fixed again. And the killer… will be dead.

Panel 6. Just Mujama again. She's very clear and warns Strap.
Mujama: And the two of you will not stop me, because you will sleep trough everything.

Page 9.

Panel 1. Strap signs. He's in no mood to fight.
Strap: Sign.
Caption: I hope this is temporary.

Panel 2. To her surprise, he turns around.
Strap: You're very, very lucky that I'm here. Do you even know how to return to your timeline?

Panel 3. Mujama is also angry.
Mujama: I don't intent to return.

Panel 4. He's really angry now. Like a teacher who has to teach a student who doesn’t want to listen. His staff appears in his hand and before them a hologram appears.
Strap: You've acted like a child! Jumping into the water without knowing what's in the water and in which direction it flows.
Before you do anything, you need to know how time works.

Panel 5. Mujama wants to walks away.
Mujama: I don't need your lecture.
Strap: Well, that's too bad. I will help you with saving them, but let me first explain with what you're dealing with.

Panel 6. We look at the face of Mujama, and behind her we see Strap.
Strap: Sure, walk away. Don't make use of the opportunity of help of an experienced person. This isn't a joke to me or a kid's game.

Panel 7. Mujama looks at Strap. Listening.
Strap: You've made yourself part of something greater. I can help you with that, if you let me.

Page 10.

Panel 1. Mujama gives up, waving with her hand.
Mujama: Just tell. Like I could stop you.

Panel 2. Strap looks to both women.
Strap: First of all, there's no butterfly-effect.
Mujama: Wha… what do you mean?

Panel 3. Strap signs with his fingers on his nose.
Strap: Like I side, you've jumped in unknown waters.

Panel 4. A hologram appears of a river in front of them. Strap points to a certain point, which is marked with a red cross.
Strap: This river is our timeline. Our universe, which flows to the right side of this projection. It's our home, so to speak. This red cross is our present. Our start of origin.

Panel 5. Now he points to a second marked cross, which is green. Below the green cross is attached a new river that starts flowing.
Strap: We went back in time, into the same river. The very moment we arrived in the past, we've created a new river. A new timeline. A new universe.

Panel 6. He looks to Mujama. He knows she smart enough to understand it. He points to the second river.
Strap: After making changes in events and you travel back to your present, presumable you know how to return, you will notice that there are two of you. That's because you're still in this river.

Page 11.

Panel 1. Elisa has taken a chair. She heard the story before. For her it's bla, bla, bla. Strap is looking at her, his face is like Spock from Star Trek. Annoyed.

Panel 2. The staff is Strap is appearing in his hand and he looks at it. His face looks worried.
Strap: Do you understand the implication of that?

Panel 3. Mujama looks to him. Afraid to understand.

Panel 4. He points with his staff to the rivers.
Strap: To go back to your original point of the journey, you will need something to go back. That something needs to remember the coordinates from where you left.

Panel 5. He shows his staff. Behind him you see many rivers now.
Strap: Without this staff, I'm lost and then it's almost impossible to find the right timeline. The right dimension.

Panel 6. He points the staff the Mujama. His eyes are looking terrified. He hopes that she will give him a answer that will comfort him, but he's very afraid that she didn't prepared to go back. After all, she's very new with timetravel.
Strap: This timejump, I didn't prepared for it. Did you?

Panel 7. Mujama looks at him, realizing the magnitude of the situation. She didn't prepared, and realize that Strap can't go back to his family.

Page 12.

Panel 1. Strap is sitting on the edge of the swimming pool, with his feet in the water. His face is like he's thinking of a possible solution. Next to him is sitting Elisa. Behind them you see Mujama, talking to Byrne.

Panel 2. The view is now reversed. Mujama looks at Strap, talking to Byrne.
Mujama: I've ruined his life. How, how can I ever undo what I've done?

Panel 3. Strap stands up.

Panel 4. Strap ask very calm a question.
Strap: I think I know how to return to our original point. But it's a longshot.

Panel 5. Strap points to the hotel.
Strap:  I offered to help you and like you, I want to know why all those people are killed. I think you were the target, but that failed. Your husband and child died instead.

Panel 6. They all look to the hotel now.
Strap: You didn't drink the poison, so they blow everything up.
Mujama: And yet, I'm alive. So in our timeline, they will plan another attack.

Panel 7. Strap looks to Mujama and Byrne. He really hopes she will let him lead this operation.
Strap: Elisa and I have done these things hundreds of times. We know how to find them.

Page 13.

Panel 1. Almost same panel.
Strap: Mujama, you are stronger than ever, but more important, the two of you are prepared now.  You can control the situation. We just have to make sure that your family don't arrive here.

Panel 2. Strap looks to the forest, which is far away.
Strap: I have a suggestion. It involves that some people have to sleep a little bit longer today.

Panel 3. He just look at her. Mujama smiles and understands his plan.

Panel 4. Mujama and Byrne are approaching the hotel, holding hands. It's the same panel as seen before, but now without Brine and Lyne in the panel. Same people around them in the panel.
Caption: Later that day.
Byrne: Swimming-pool.
Mujama: Again.

Panel 5. We're at the swimming-pool. Same panel as before. Mujama is running on the plank. Lot of people having fun.

Panel 6. Her strong legs make her jump far. This time her jump is clean and she's not having fun.

Page 14.

Panel 1. Mujama and Byrne are in the water. This time without Brine in the picture talking to them. The two women talk softly.
Byrne: It was weird to see myself sleeping.
Mujama: And they will sleep until I wake them up.

Panel 2. Mujama pulls herself out the water. Her face is dead serious.
Mujama: It's time to go to our hotel room.
Byrne: So we can drink our lovely lemonade. Yippee, looking forward to that.

Panel 3. Byrne is hitting the water towards Mujama.  Mujama react to that.
Byrne: Cheer up a little bit. It's not like if we're going to die!

Panel 4. Mujama grasp a ball.

Panel 5. Byrne gets hit to the head by the ball.

Panel 6. Mujama grasp a blanket. She's smiling.
Mujama: You can have your revenge in bed, if you like.

Page 15.

Panel 1. We're at the hotel room. It's the same room as the one we've seen Brine and Lyne in it. Byrne gives Mujama a big push in which Mujama falls on her back in bed.
Byrne: You stay there, my love, and await your punishment.

Panel 2.  Mujama is looking at Byrne, who walks to a table. On the table you see a big glas of lemonade. Next to it are several empty glasses.

Panel 3. Byrne is pouring drinks in two glasses.
Byrne: It's nice of the hotel to bring us some lemonade.
Mujama: Sure is.

Panel 4. They both drink.

Panel 5. Byrne is searching in her bag. her glass is empty and on the table. Mujama, in bed, holds a empty glass in her hand.
Byrne: I've brought something with me that's probably the right punishment for your little "insult".

Panel 6. Before we get to see what she's going to get out of the bag, her eyes are now slipping away. Behind her we see the same with Mujama.

Page 16.

Panel 1. We see the back of a man. He's in the hotel room. He's holding a smartphone in front of his face and with his other hand he's feeling the neck of the "dead" Mujama.
Faceless man: It's done. They're both dead.

Panel 2. We see his face now, and we know him very well (it's Graves). It's the nasty older guard (known as guard two) from the beginning. He has his phone before him, talking to someone he can see. We can't see this person.
Voice phone (Veriél): Wonderful. Go to your partner and start the second part of the mission. Then, return to base. Tomorrow the two of you will be assigned to your next target.

Panel 3. Guard Two (Graves) puts his phone away and holding the door watching Mujama. There's a sadness in his face, like he regrets what he had done.
Graves: I'm sorry, Mujama. But it had to be done.

Panel 4. The door is closed and we see Elisa decloaking.

Panel 5. She has a device in her hand (similar like what the doctors have in Star Trek) and push it in the neck of Mujama. The device contains all kinds of antidotes. You see Byrne already waking up, feeling her neck.
Elisa: Welcome back to the land of the living.

Page 17.

Panel 1. Elisa shows her phone to Mujama. Mujama is watching the movie. Her face is grimm.
Elisa: I filmed all of it, which we can use as evidence. It's now time for the next step. Are you up to it?

Panel 2. A portal appears in front of the women. We see Strap.
Strap: I filmed the two men and I finally know their names.

Panel 3. Strap looks at Mujama. She looks back. She really wants to know.

Panel 4. Strap say the names of Guard One and Guard Two.
Strap: The youngest of them is called Asón. The oldest is called Graves.

Panel 5. Elisa speaks.
Elisa: But no family names. Well, we work around that. Did you tagged them?

Panel 6. Strap is smiling a mean smile.
Strap: Of course I did, you twit. Now, let's start with our protocol. Sending our films to the Strap of this timeline.

Panel 7. Strap is looking at Mujama, while he's busy with his phone.
Strap: Don't worry. You'll get your revenge.

Page 18.

Page 1. Strap is watching Graves and Ason. The two are following a man. We don't see his face, only the back. We're inside the hotel, near the storehouse. Only personel are walking here, so the other man stands out.
Caption Strap: While Elisa is with the two women to the department of this timeline, I've stayed behind to see what has started the fire.

Page 2. The man reacts to a sound. A personal is approaching Graves and Ason.
Caption Strap: I'm out of phase, so they can't see me.

Page 3. The man turns around and sees the two men. Ason push the personal aside.
Caption: My god. His face.

Page 4. The time has stopped. Strap is walking towards the man. Beams of fire come out from the hands of the man (note, it's the brother of Mujama. But the readers don't know this yet).
Caption: I've stopped time and I walk to him to get a closer look. So he has developed kablooie powers. Gods, I'm started to sound like Mimic.
Kablooie is not even a word.

Page 5. Strap walks to the frozen men, Graves and Ason.
Caption Strap: The two of you again. So you're following him? Try to stop him?

Page 6. Just Strap in the panel.
Strap: Let's see what you have else in store for me.

Page 19.

Panel 1. This is a big panel. We're in the department of Strap. They are in a large room. Mujama is standing besides Byrne. Not far away we see Strap and Elisa, with the other Strap. They are talking. Captions are from Mujama.
Caption Mujama: You know, life can be weird. Sometimes really weird. Somehow, I've put myself in the weirdest situation you could ever image. If I would decide to write a diary and somebody would find it, that person would really think that I'm a nutjob.
Caption: My whole life is nuts, from the day that me, my sister and brother were taken from our parents.
Caption: I remember that day very well.

Panel 2. Mujama is walking to a door.
Caption: What I'm doing now is a bad idea.
Caption: But I can't help myself. I have to do this.

Panel 3. Mujama has opened the door a little bit, just enough to look through it.
Caption: I know it all too well. It's… stupid.

Panel 4. We see Elisa (from this timeline) talking with Mujama, Brine, Byrne and Lyne.
Caption: Stupid.
Caption: But… I want to see them. One more time.

Panel 5. Elisa takes them away.

Page 20.
Panel 1. Mujama is opening the door more, ready to follow them. Her face is full of pain. She wants to follow them.
Caption: No. Please don't go.
Panel 2. Small panel. A female hand is put on the shoulder of Mujama. We only see the chin and mouth of Mujama, but we can see that she notice the hand.
Panel 3. Mujama looks in the face of Byrne. Byrne stopped her from following this family.
Byrne: We have to move on. You and me both. We have no part in their lives.

Panel 4. Mujama is crying.
Mujama: It's the pain… The grief and regret.

Panel 5. Byrne holds her arms around Mujama. Both crying, but Mujama much, much more.
Caption: I've endured so much pain in my live. I've lived through so much horror. I'm quick to anger and I'm afraid of nothing. But the truth is, in my heart, I'm a big crybaby.

Page 21.

Panel 1. We see Strap standing with his staff in his hand, glowing and growing larger. The others are with him, all holding hands.
Strap: Now, it's time to go home.
Caption: Watching them, it felled like I… died. If I was a ghost.

Panel 2. We're looking at the back of Strap. Mujama is looking at her hands. Al of them are turning invisible. It starts with the hand of Mujama. In front of Strap is forming a portal. The portal is blue.
Caption Mujama: Strap is taking us back to the moment we arrived here. His theory is that he can use the portal of arriving here yesterday to take us back to our right timeline.

Panel 3. We see them stepping trough a portal.
Caption: I guess that he thinks I'm a real dumbass. Stealing his blood, his powers.

Panel 4. Big panel. We're at the swimming pool again, in the morning. We see a green sphere and inside of them are all of them (from yesterday). Outside we see, invisible, all of them from this moment. (are you confused yet? ^^)
Caption: Still, he helped me. He could have, but didn't leave me.

Panel 5. This panel is all black, with stars in it.

Page 22.

Elisa: Are the two of you okay?

Panel 3. Byrne answers.
Byrne: We're fine. Thank you.

Panel 4. Elisa gives them a speedup. Mujama and Byrne listen.
Elisa: We're right back at where we started, so I want to ask the both of you to come with us. We have to continue the plan and make sure the two of you are safe.

Panel 5. Elisa looks at Mujama. Mujama looks surprised.
Elisa: When we're back at the office, Strap is going to train you. Interested in a career switch?
